It can increase the cruising range and performance output when applied to electric vehicles. This start-up company based in Marseille, France, is developing a new type of battery, which is believed to bring disruptive changes to the traditional electric vehicle industry.
The core product of Nawa Technologies is a new type of carbon nano supercapacitor, which has significant advantages in many aspects compared to traditional lithium batteries. First of all, the charging and discharging rate of this supercapacitor is 1000 times that of traditional batteries. It can complete the car charging in just a few seconds, even 3 times faster than traditional car refueling.
And because there is no chemical reaction, only the physical separation between protons and ions, ultra-fast charging does not cause the battery to generate heat or expand. This means that the service life of carbon nano supercapacitors is very long, and the charging cycle can be up to 1 million times.
And this is just one of the advantages of this new battery, Nawa believes that the biggest advantage is environmental protection. Nawa co-founder and COO Pascal Boulanger said: "For me, the dream of not using lithium, cobalt, and rare earth metals is about to become a reality. These materials are seriously polluted and the extraction process from the earth is very complicated."
